Orange juice bottling had been experimented with leading up to WWII for the benefits of vitamin C in the diet for health.(1) After Australia’s commitment to feeding the US troops, orange juice, as well as grapefruit and lemon juice,(2) exploded in production as it was a standard in the American ration packs.(3)
