AmeriCANisation is an online exhibition exploring how the conditions created by WWII shifted food in Australia between 1939 and 1945. The major conditions forcing change were the aggressive combat in Europe rendering the allied forces’ incapable of producing enough food for their civilians and soldiers, subsequently relying on Australian food supply, as well as the outbreak of war in the Pacific bringing Americans to Australian soil. These conditions forces changes to the production, administration, culture and consumption of food in Australia.
